EQUIPMENT DESIGN

Equimech is a custom industrial equipment design company. Our experienced engineering team will create tailored designs to fit the exact needs of your business. We specialize in providing innovative, cost-effective solutions that are built to last.  The design of equipment is an essential part of the manufacturing process. It involves the selection and integration of components to create a system that meets the needs of the customer. Equipment design includes machine design, lifting devices, work platforms, material handling systems, and assembly tool design. The use of conveyors is a common component in equipment design as they provide efficient transport for materials from one point to another. Machine designers must consider factors such as cost, safety, reliability and efficiency when designing equipment and selecting components such as conveyors for their designs.

Manufacturing equipment design for various industries, including train manufacturing, mining, paper mills, and automotive design, requires tailored solutions to meet the unique demands of each sector.  In each of these industries, equipment design must prioritize safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards.

FULL SYSTEM DESIGN

EquiMech provides comprehensive mechanical engineering services to design and develop custom systems for a variety of industries. Our experienced team is dedicated to providing the best solutions through innovative thinking and cutting-edge technologies. We turn your ideas into reality.

REGRIDGERATION SYSTEMS

Engineered refrigeration systems refer to a combination of components and technology used to achieve temperature control in industrial, commercial and residential applications. They typically include refrigeration units, cooling towers, heat exchangers, pumps, piping, and control systems, designed and assembled to provide specific cooling or refrigeration requirements. These systems are engineered to meet the specific needs of the application and can range from simple units for small scale cooling to complex systems for large scale industrial processes.

HYDRAULICS

Hydraulic design of equipment involves the application of fluid power principles to create efficient, safe, and reliable systems. It involves selecting and sizing components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, and reservoirs, as well as considering factors such as fluid type, pressure, flow rate, and heat dissipation. The design must take into account various system requirements, including power transmission, control, and safety, and must also meet relevant industry standards and regulations. Effective hydraulic design requires a thorough understanding of fluid mechanics and system behavior, as well as practical experience in the design and implementation of hydraulic systems.

We provide complete hydraulic systems design and engineering, producing hydraulic system plans, hydraulic system layout and hydraulic testing.   Hydraulic systems are designed to meet the specific requirements of your equipment, providing high performance and long life. We use the latest software, including FEA and CFD modeling, to ensure that the system is optimized for maximum efficiency and minimizes vibrations. Our qualified engineers will recommend the appropriate components for your application.

SAFETY SYSTEMS

Engineered Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSR) are a crucial part of ensuring the safety and compliance of industrial equipment and processes, particularly in engineering and manufacturing sectors. Here are some key points about Engineered Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews:

1. Purpose: The primary purpose of a PSR is to assess the safety, design, and functionality of new or modified equipment, processes, or facilities before they are put into operation. This review helps identify potential hazards and ensure that all safety measures are in place.

2. Regulatory Requirement: In many jurisdictions, regulatory bodies require businesses to conduct PSRs as part of their legal obligations to protect workers and the environment. Compliance with these regulations is essential to avoid fines and legal issues.

3. Engineering Expertise: PSRs typically involve the expertise of qualified engineers who assess the equipment or process to ensure it meets safety standards, industry best practices, and design specifications.

Engineered Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews play a crucial role in preventing accidents, protecting workers, and complying with safety regulations in industrial settings. Organizations should follow best practices and adhere to legal requirements when conducting these reviews to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

Engineered fire sprinkler systems

are specialized fire protection systems designed to detect and suppress fires in buildings and other structures. Unlike standard or residential sprinkler systems, which have a fixed design and layout, engineered systems are customized to meet the specific fire protection needs of a particular facility or environment. These systems are typically found in commercial, industrial, and high-rise buildings where fire safety is a critical concern.

Here are key features and components of engineered fire sprinkler systems:

1. Design and Engineering

2. Hydraulic Calculations

3. Sprinkler Types

4. Alarm and Detection Systems

5. Water Supply

6. Piping Network

7. Control Valves

8. Fire Department Connection

Engineered fire sprinkler systems must comply with local building codes.

Engineered fire sprinkler systems play a crucial role in fire safety by providing early fire detection and suppression, helping to protect lives and property. Proper design, installation, and maintenance are essential.

SPECIALIZATIONS

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Project managers must have the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage all aspects of an engineering project from concept through implementation and testing. This includes understanding the technical requirements, developing a plan for execution, estimating costs, sourcing materials and personnel, scheduling tasks and activities, negotiating contracts with vendors and contractors, implementing the plan according to timeline constraints and ensuring quality control throughout the process. A successful engineering project manager must also be able to anticipate potential problems before they arise in order to minimize delays or costly mistakes.

Finite element analysis (FEA) is a numerical analysis method used to solve various engineering problems related to structural analysis and fluid flow.

FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS

FEA is used to predict the response of structures to environmental factors such as force, pressure, heat, vibration, etc. With FEA, it is possible to predict the breakage behavior of a product in the real world. It also allows to predict the weakest point of the product and verify that it works as designed.

FEA is widely used in mechanical engineering, aerospace, automotive, civil engineering projects and biomechanics. Especially important for machine design, fatigue analysis of machines and their parts, lifting capacity certification of hoisting cranes, construction of airport bridges and determination of brake or rotor lifetime certification.

Pipe system stress analysis is the process of evaluating the stress and deformation in a piping system due to various loads, such as internal pressure, thermal expansion, weight, and external loads like wind or earthquakes. This analysis is crucial in determining the safety and reliability of a piping system and helps in designing and choosing the appropriate material, size, and thickness of the pipes. The analysis can be performed using various numerical methods, such as finite element analysis, or analytical methods like stress intensity and deflection equations.
